Over the years, the FD (or the Jackal, depending on your preference) has grown to be one of the true icons of our line up and remains to be a top 3 most sold Discmania mold of all time, with DD3 and P2 rounding out the top spots (although the Sensei has been lately challenging the iconic trio). Around 2014 we decided to make the switch to a cleaner and more professional look on our S-line & D-line models.
The switch meant the Jackal stamp was phased out of the selection and was only revived as a super limited run Throwback C-line version exclusively in the US in 2016 and more famously in 2019 as a Limited Edition release of Swirly S-line FD's. That particular run has since grown to be a collector and thrower favorite, thanks in part to the particular low profile and torque resistance of the run, as well as the iconic Jackal stamp.

The FD was our first Fairway Driver and has always been a true best seller in our line up. It’s certainly one of the most iconic Discmania molds out there. If you’re looking to get your hands on your first Discmania disc, this is a great place to start.
Famous for its extremely straight flight path combined with high glide and controllability, the FD has a place in everyone’s bag. New players will fall in love with the FD’s straight-to-stable flight path and dependability off the tee. For players with some experience, the FD offers point-and-shoot accuracy that connects you with your target at ease.
The FD is a great foundation to build your bag around, as its versatility ensures it’s the one disc you’ll reach for over and over again in various situations. Don’t let the speed rating fool you, the FD glides surprisingly far!
If you are having trouble hitting the fairway with max speed drivers, take a step back, let the glide take you there, and the straight flight will place you in the middle of the fairway. The C-line version tends to settle on the more overstable end of the FD spectrum, meaning it can handle a lot of power while maintaining a straight flight path.
C-LINE
Our most durable plastic – these discs wear down very slowly. C-Line discs retain original flight characteristics for an extended period of time. Whether used in heavily wooded situations, or on extremely rugged courses, the C-Line plastic will continue to perform predictably and avoid damage better than any other plastic. Good grip and showstopper see-through look. Typically the most stable blend of plastic in our line.
Discmania Originals is our heritage collection. First launched in 2006, we’re now reinventing them with our state-of-the-art production facility in Sweden. Discmania Originals has something for disc golfers of all skill levels.
